How long will it take to have a wedding dress altered in a boutique?
I bought my dress from Valentino in NYC. It needs to be hemmed and they are going to put some sort of bra or support in it. My wedding is August 25th….when should I bring it in to do this? Should I let Valentino do the alterations? I’m wondering if they will charge me for them (ridiculously) or will it be free? Should I just bring it somehwere else?
some high end places will do the alterations for free if you got the dress there – call them and ask… if they charge than get their prices and call around to find the best deal in a reputable place
as far as the timing – sooner is always better – if they do take a while or if there is (god forbid) a problem it’s better to have it sorted out way before the wedding
