Wedding Ushers Attire

Do I have to have ushers?
I am having a fairly small wedding (60 guests approx). Outdoors, formal attire but not super traditional ceremony. Must I have ushers? Can’t I just reserve seats for family with some cards and have others sit where they please?
I don’t think many people have ushers these days. I’m having just over 100 people and no ushers. The last wedding i went to back in January had about 75 people and no ushers. We just sat wherever we wanted. I think most people know that the front few pews are for immediate family so you don’t have to worry about people taking those seats. Ushers are most definatly not neccessary.
