Wedding Usherette Dress

black dress at a wedding?
my cousins wedding is coming up in may and it is going to be in the late afternoon in the outdoors. i am fortunate enough to be taking part in the wedding as an “usherette.” there will be myself and their guy friend ushering people and of course he is going to be wearing a black tux, with that said, would it be alright to wear a black dress?
she told me that all she cared about is that its not revealing and that its anywhere from knee length to floor length. as for the colors of the wedding they are purple and blue but she said i dont have to stick with those colors.
here is the dress i am interested in and that my cousin has given the okay on. however, the only available color they have is black

Your dress looks more like something for the red carpet than a wedding. It’s gorgeous, but not right for an outdoor wedding in the spring.
This suggestion might help you pick something that would be better: Think Springtime ! Think “pretty, light, summery, outside, garden, strappy high heeled sandals on my feet”. The one you picked doesn’t really resonate springtime to me. You don’t want to upstage the bride, even though she ok’d the one in the picture. I think you’re showing too much skin in the one in the picture.
