Wedding Speech Success

Do you have any funny stories from your wedding day?

Stuff that went wrong, etc. Here’s mine:

The minister had only done a few ceremonies, and he was really nervous. Anyway, during our ceremony he was giving a speech, tried to say “success” and it came out as “sex” instead. HA!

I have a few really funny things. I am always late, and to be sure I wasn’t late for my own wedding, I got to the church a few hours early and still managed to get into the church like two minutes late. The next thing is that my dress had a really nice neckline, and I really loved the dress, so I got it. After getting it altered, it was still a little big in the chest area, so I ended up wearing a padded strapless bra. The dress also had pads sewn into the front of the gown. As I was walking down the aisle, one of our groomsmen turned to my husband and said, wow I didn’t know she was that big. He thought he whispered it, but truth be told, everyone in the church heard it. Then as we went to light our unity candle, it would not light. It took us like 5 tries to get it lit. No one told us that we should have lite it before the wedding. Lastly, at the end of the ceremony, our minister forgot to say, you may kiss the bride. The music came on, and we just walked down the isle. It wasn’t until at the reception that we realized that we forgot our kiss.

Our reception was a great one. My husband’s uncle flirted with everyone woman there in the place. Then him and his son were doing strip teases on the tables. When it came time for the cake cutting, another one of our groomsmen grabbed some cake (without me knowing about it) and walked over to me to give me a hug (or so I thought). He ended up smashing cake all into my face (that was alright when he got married, I got the pleasure of getting him back). Also at the reception, we had a guy there that was asking all the women there to marry him (as he was really drunk).

But the best part about our wedding was that all my husband’s brothers and sisters and inlaws were at our wedding. That is the last time that everyone was together, because since then there has been a couple deaths.

In September we will be married 5 years!

To add a note of horror, my sister (and matron of honor) was in a bit of trouble (okay so alot of trouble), and during the rehearsal the police surrounded the church and waited to arrest her. She ended up being able to get out on bond, and make it to the wedding.
