A Guide In Writing A Brides Speech

By traditional, brides speechare not delivered at weddings. The groom is usually the one who speaks on behalf of his wife. But, with the growing new trends in wedding speeches, the brides are given a new sense of importance.

Naturally though, there are no rigid rules of this speech. Anything, in fact, goes with this speech. To serve as a guide, this article has some pointers which you can follow.

Acknowledge the toast that was previously offered. Chances are the speakers who delivered their speeches before you have offered a toast. These toasts, you should take note. Since there are no particular rules to follow, you might as well try to crack a joke while acknowledging the toasts.

Acknowldge some people. If the previous speakers have not acknowledge everyone that needs acknowledgment, single out some people you want to personally thank. So ask them to leave some of the people who helped out in your wedding for you to personally thank. But, it is also likely that everyone has been mentioned already, just thank those guests who really took a great deal of effort to attend your wedding.

Also, acknowledge your parents. You can also try to share with the guests a memory that is significant for all of you. Also, remember to tell them how much appreciated and loved they are. This day is a bittersweet day for them as it marks the day when you’re no longer their baby girl. Reassure them that you will always be.

Thank your husband’s parents as well, for their generosity, kindness, and for welcoming you in their family. Praise them for raising a wonderful son. This gives them added fulfillment. Proceed with thanking your maid of honor, your bridesmaids and don’t forget that sweet flower girl who walked down the aisle with you. They’d be happy to be singled out.

Next, mention some things about your groom. A brides speech would not fulfill its purpose if you will not talk about your new husband. So dedicate a few lines for him. Although this may seem cheesy, this is the best time to reaffirm your love for him and your devotion to your marriage. You may also share some details about how you two met. Share your husband’s good character with your guests and they would surely love it. To refrain from sounding too melodramatic, you can make this part a bit funny. Even after a few years, your husband will still think about that moment when you professed your love for him in front of your families and people who are dear to your heart and his.

End it with a brides speechtoast. Thank your audience for their kindness, attendance, kindness and affection.
