I need help with my speech for my fathers wedding!?
My father is getting married to a woman that I don’t like. She has asked me to be the Maid of Honor, and I am the daughter of the groom, so i am going to have to make a speech.
Like I said, I don’t like this woman, and I’m not a big fan of my fathers, so I don’t know what to say.
I don’t think they were meant for each other, and their not a perfect couple. There really aren’t funny stories to tell.
I know its hard, but I want a sweet speech.
If anyone has any quotes, or would like to help me on how to write a speech, that would be SO helpful, and I would be so greatful.
Just write something that comes from the heart. It doesn’t have to be long or wordy. You don’t even have mention her. You aren’t required to give a speech, especially if you aren’t comfortable with it. Not to mention, why did you even accept the position of maid of honor if you don’t like her and you don’t support their marriage at all? The maid of honor is supposed to be the bride’s closest friend or relative, which you are neither. If you say anything sweet, which you say you are looking for, you will be lying through your teeth and do you really want to be fake, even if you are the only person who is aware of it? Most people don’t and would never do such a thing.
How far away is this wedding? Because you can and should back out of the position before the wedding day rolls around.
