Wedding Speech Procedure

January 13th, 2011

wedding speech procedure
I guess I didn’t explain myself well. I am having a morning wedding with only 10 guests.?

I will be having a brunch but I dont know the procedure of the reception. I want to know if I need an MC, speeches or toasts etc. I will have a cake. If I need to have these things, what is the order in which I should have them? Thanks for your patience. But I still need help.

For your small reception – ask the best man to announce you and your new spouse. Wait outside the room while everyone is seated with a glass of champagne. Then walk into the room and have your best man say something like “I’d like to introduce my good friends – Mr. and Mrs. _____, let’s all raise a toast to them for a long and happy marriage”.

Then, traditionally, the best man gives a quick toast (the maid of honor can, also, at this time) and then it’s time to eat.

After the meal is served you can cut the cake, dance, whatever…toss the bouquet, if you like. It’s really up to you how to do it. Usually though the cake cutting and bouquet toss are towards the end of the reception.

Congrats and good luck!
