Wedding Speech Nerves

Make Your Daughter Proud With Your Father Of The Bride Speech
It can be a daunting prospect once you know you will be required to give a speech to everyone at a wedding. Most of us never have any reason to speak to a large group of people except on special occasions.
Which is why some people find that standing in the limelight with everyone looking at you to make a speech can be scary. Marriages are a very happy and exciting time and everyone looks forward to the wedding with excitement and eager anticipation.
Unfortunately for the people who will make speeches there is also an extra concern and worry about the day. Of all the parental duties you experience the father of bride speech at your daughter’s wedding can be one of the proudest moments of parenthood and it will be if you take the time to prepare properly.
Taking time to prepare yourself properly will be very helpful in giving you the confidence to make your speech and make your mark on the event. To have any hope of making a great speech give yourself enough time to prepare by starting a week or two before the day of the wedding.
Begin with a list of what you want to mention in a father of the bride speech you’ll be proud of. You can start out be offering a welcome to your guests by express how pleased you are to be able to share with them this celebration of the wedding of your daughter and her new husband.
It is customary to then describe some of the amusing anecdotes of your daughter growing up but try not to say anything too embarrassing about her. You should not be too serious about her life so keep it all light to make people smile and learn something amusing for the guests without boring them.
You can mention some of the things made you so very proud of your daughter and how she will make her new husband proud of her. Make notes about all these points and then write a few lines about each of the points on your list.
After writing the speech it is important that you say it out loud to yourself and then edit any parts where you stumble or it doesn’t really say what you meant it to do. Now do it again reading out loud to yourself and do this over and over until you feel confident with what will be a great father of the bride speech.
The more you practice the happier you will feel to be making your speech in front of all your guests until on the wedding day you will be ready to make your daughter proud of her dad.
The practice will pay off as you speak confidently of your daughter and her wedding and how proud of her you are.
Your daughter will feel so proud of you when you raise your wedding toasting glass to toast the bride and groom and the guests will be most impressed with you and you will be very pleased with yourself for doing so well.
