The Most Common Mistakes To Avoid When Giving A Best Man Speech

If you have been to a few weddings you have probably observed at least of couple of best man speeches that didn’t turn so well. And if you have been given the job of being best man for someone, then it would hardly be surprising if you felt very nervous about giving the speech. Here are some of the most common best man speech mistakes that you will want to avoid.

- Avoid trying to imitate a stand up comedian if you are not a naturally funny person. It will be fine to put a few jokes in here and there but you should not expect to have people falling over themselves laughing. It will be very embarrassing to deliver a speech that is full of jokes that nobody finds funny. However if you are a natural joker and have a talent for making people laugh then use this to your advantage. Some of the worst best man speeches I’ve seen have been where unfunny people have tried to tell jokes the whole time; I felt embarrassed for them.

- Less is more when it comes to a best man speech. Unless you have a talent for public speaking then don’t go on longer than ten minutes or you might start sending people to sleep. If you are going for an optimum time then try to stay around the five minute mark.

- Remember that the speech is meant to be about the bride and groom and not about you. Don’t spend time during this speech airing any grievances or using the time to tell everyone all about you and what you have achieved.

- Try to make sure that you don’t make any comments which could cause upset to anyone or you could end up ruining the whole day for everyone, yourself included.

Getting married can be described as life altering experience. At least fellas would imagine so, anyway. What better route to see off ones single days than with a stag party? http://www.stagsemporium.com is the place to go to to check this out.
