Wedding Itinerary Reception

Informal wedding dinner reception itinerary?

I’m having a small informal-ish wedding reception. I’m very nervous that people will be bored. We are just having dinner in a nice restaurant, about 20 people. Does anyone have a layout of how the night can go? The people coming to the reception range in age from 18-60yrs old. I’m afraid people will be bored with just a dinner, but I’m not sure what else I can do. Ideas? The restaurant is in a hotel in Niagara Falls with the casino and lounges and bars basically in the hotel.

You have an ideal set up to have an after-party! Just plan your reception, which should be fine – you can have toasts, a speech or two, eat dinner, and have wedding cake, if you want. Then have someone close to you (sister, bff) designated to announce an after-event of whatever you want. If you’re up for music and dancing, see if the hotel bars will work. If not, find one within walking distance that has good tunes. (Obviously, you’d research this first).

This is actually fairly common when people have receptions at restaurants. The younger or more active crowd may not be ready to end the evening, so just keep it going! And if casinos sound more fun, just plan to continue it there.

Also, you aren’t expected to pay for this. In fact, everyone will be wanting to buy YOUR drinks!
