Wedding Garter Traditions

Hankerchief in cleavage; wedding tradition?
If your a fan of desperate housewives you’ll hopefully get this;
When Gabby married Victor, she wanted to be a traditional bride, and so she had a blue garter on her leg, and a borrowed hankerchief in her cleavage etc. The hanky thing, is that tradition to put one in your cleavage? and why?
I dont’ think the tradition is to put the hankerchief in the bosom, I think the tradition is to have something “borrowed” as in something borrowed something blue. These are things every bride should have. That is the tradition. Now I’m sure many actually put it in their bosom because wedding dresses dont’ have pockets. And I’m even more positive they put it there on that show because it seems scandalous.
