Wedding Doves Release

why do ppl think doves are really tacky at a wedding?
i really wouldnt mind but im having 2 released as ever since i was 12 i wanted them..and sometimes you just have to live out your childhood dreams..even if it is a little bit silly. but it seems everyone is against them and i will be laughed at on my big day.
shootme..i cant stand animal cruelty but the people i am using are using rock doves which are homing doves that when released know to fly home…their ‘nest’ is 12 miles away from where they will be released.
White Doves are actually coming back into popularity. The white dove is a traditional christian symbol of peace and purity, which is why they are popular at weddings.
Birds are creatures of instinct, so releasing them into the wild isn’t really a big deal…they’ll survive just fine and will likely live a longer life than they might in captivity.
A little secret that many people do not realize is that the doves purchased for wedding releases are often trained to fly back home (homing pigeons – fact: rock doves are pigeons) …not all are trained but many are and they’ll likely end up being sold over and over again by the same folks as the doves will always fly back home if they are trained.
My opinion…I think the doves are a cool touch !
