Are there any car rental agencies that rent to people under 25?
My hubby and I are going to be in the Seattle area in Jan. for a wedding, and both of us are 21. As far as I know you have to be 25 to rent a car, but are there any companies that will rent to people that aren’t 25? If we could rent a car when we are out there it would make our lives a lot easier.
I’ve heard that Thrifty, Dollar and Enterprise rent to drivers under 25, but they charge an extra daily fee. You can have an older person or a parent rent a car in their name and pick it up and add you as a driver, but that may also cost extra (and you better be sure both the renter and you have insurance coverage). The other person would have to use their credit card and may not be wiling.
I suggest you call the companies in Seattle and see what their policy and charges are for your situation. As a backup plan, save money for taxi service!
