What was the most horrific bridesmaid dress which you were made to wear?
I just saw the movie “27 Dresses” (very funny). So, Askvillians, what was the most horrific bridesmaid dress which you were made to wear? Pictures welcome if you have them!
Mine was a dress I wore in my sisters wedding(circa 1981). She had a southern-belle theme. She wore a hoop-skirt (THANKFULLY she didn’t make us wear those!). But, it was peach colored (not a good color for any of the bridesmaids…), of the shoulder with wide straps, big ruffle around the chest, and big ruffle around the bottom. Ugh – I still shudder. But, I am sure there are others out there with worse ones…so bring ‘em on!
Pale yellow is NOT my color. It had one of those high waistlines, so I looked pregnant. I’ve always looked younger than my actual age and at that time I was around 22/23 and looked 13 and pregnant. It had a high neckline also with tiny, fake pearls for buttons running down the front of the bodice. The sleeves were short and pouffy. There was a thin, long white ribbon that tied around the waist to complete this dress. It was ugly! Any pictures of me in this travesty have looong since been destroyed (my copies that is).
