Wedding Attendants
What is a good gift to give to wedding attendants?
I have a budget of approximately 100$ a person, but I don’t know if I should give everyone the same thing, or if I should give each person something unique. Also, All of the attendants have been very involved except for one. What should I do with her?? She’s kind of been useless…
They are so many and it depends on your girls. If you girls are radically different I wouldn’t get them the same gift. If they are similar enough, sure. It doesn’t matter how useless one was either. I mean a bridesmaid is suppose to buy her dress and show up on the day. If she does that, you are grateful.
It really depends on your girls though as to what to get them. I’m a huge fan of the monogrammed tote. You can get them on EBay for like $8 each and monogrammed with an initial (I recommend first name). Then fill it with things for them. Something like an OPI nailpolish in a cool funky name that suits either their personality or your wedding. I got my sister Cajun Shrimp. She loves Cajun food and is only 5 ft tall. You can fill it with some of your favorite things. If you are having a beach or destination wedding, you can put a new beach towel and some sun screen in it. If one is a big time reader, you can put the new book by her favorite author in it. If one is a big jewelry girl, get some pendents or chains. One of my friends loves funky socks.
Specialty coffee or merely filling it with some of your personal favorites. We did that for Christmas last year. We gave each other our favorite products–my gift was my favorite lip balm, my favorite author, my favorite conditioner, and some things in my favorite color (like post it notes and scissors). Everyone did the theme of My Favorites and it was quite fun.
One of my friends took everyone to an amusement park for the day which made me want to be a bridesmaid in her wedding more than anything. They went to Six Flags and she paid for everyone’s admission.
It can be anything really. It’s up to you. The only thing I hate is gift cards. It’s like that comedian says “it’s the gift that says I don’t know you”. It requires no effort what so ever. Also avoid picture frames. After the wedding a picture of the two of you on the wedding day may be a great gift but just the frame itself is boring and unoriginal.
$100 budget really leaves you a lot of room to move in. You can get so much for that especially buying in bulk, using coupons and searching ebay. Oh and don’t give them water bottles. I did that since it was June and I didn’t want them to get dehydrated. Since it wasn’t in a tote bag, I ended up getting all 4 back at the end of the day.
