Wedding Speech Sound

A Good Wedding Speech Outline
When you prepare your wedding speech you should make sure it has a good outline to follow so it sounds well prepared and genuine. Without an outline you will lose your guest attention and it will sound like it was written only minutes before in the bathroom and that you didn’t take the responsibility seriously.
It is more than just the wedding speech outline, but also the words,, hand gestures, body language, eye contact and emotion. This is why practising in front of a mirror or recording yourself is so important. Your words may be charming but if you are squirming under the pressure the whole time it will be distracting to the guests and will reflect negatively on your wedding speech.
The purpose with your wedding speech is to hold the guest’s attention for the whole speech, showing sentiment and a little humor are great ways to keep the guests captivated. It is ok to have cue cards or a piece of paper with you but you should not be reading straight off of them only refer to them.
A good outline for speech should be simple and you can’t go wrong:
First: You start with introductions and stating your relationship to the bride or groom. Feel free to make a witty remark here to get the ball rolling.
Second: This is where you make your ‘Thanks’ – thank the bride and groom for the honor of giving them a speech, thank other wedding party members, thank the parents, thank the guests etc.
Third: This is the meat of your speech – an occasion to tell a short story or share something special about the bride and groom for example: ‘you find their love encouraging….etc.’
Final: Final remarks should include wishing the couple the best in years to come, maybe some words of advice or a short quote. Then you finish with inviting everyone to raise their glasses in a toast to the new couple.
