Hindu Wedding Garland

Does it get any madder than this? An Indian man has ‘married’ his dog.?

A 33 year old farmer, named only as Selvakumar, stoned to death two mating dogs in his rice field 15 years ago. He then fell into bad fortune, his hearing and speech were impaired, and he was unable to walk. Doctors were clueless as to his problem, but an astrologer finally told him he was cursed by the spirits of the dogs he had killed. After a long search for a ‘bride,’ he finally found Selva, a 4 year old mongrel bitch, and they married in the local Hindu temple. The dog was adorned in a sari and garlanded with flowers. The dog did make an attempt to run for it, reports said. A friend of the groom said afterwards that the wedding was just for lifting the curse and the farmer did intend plan to find a real bride. Has this man all his faculties?
I fully expected someone to come in with a question as to what would happen when he tried to consummate the marriage. I think the dog then would be even more in the frame of mind where he wanted to escape.

Without being culturally insenitive or rude, honestly, those folks are extremely bizarre and find comfort in strange rituals and supertitions, when all they needed was a doctor.
