Best Man Wedding Speech – Writing The Best Speech

Why worry about writing your own best man wedding speech when there are free speeches available online? Here are a couple of good reasons.

For one, speeches that were made by someone else isn’t exactly the type that you’ll be able to relate to. In most cases, these talk about subjects like weddings, stories about marriage, and the likes. When the speech is made this way, the speech has no spirit, it doesn’t tell what you really want to say personally. They are mostly generic speeches and thus sound as such, and while they are a good option, they are not exactly the speeches you want to deliver in front of people who most likely know you personally. Another good reason is the appeal that makes these speeches sound too structured. Although these speeches match the themes of the occasion, they are not entirely a perfect choice for your listerners. You may not be able to connect to your audience with it, making your speech a bit unforgettable or simply boring. For a final speech of the occasion, yours should have the power to entertain the crowd and prepare them for the celebrations that follow.

You’re best option is to produce a speech that you wrote yourself. But how will you do that
?

Refrain from thinking about the wedding first. If you do, you’ll feel less anxious about making your speech. So don’t stress out even if you’re already running out of time.

List down the materials which you would want to use in your speech. These can be anything from amusing anecdotes that trace as far back as the groom’s childhood (if you were childhood friends) or amusing insights into the groom’s prospect of the future.

Some of the most important things that should be in your speech are dates (how long have the bride and groom have been together), significant events which happened between the couple, details about the groom, and a short background on the bride. You can also incorporate a short funny story about the groom’s personal experience. Talking about the groom’s ex-girlfriends is perfectly fine so long as the ones you pick are funny and light. You can also discuss a bit about how the groom is like as a friend, a co-worker, and as a man. Maybe you could include a few side notes about how the groom would be like as a husband.

Once you’ve got all the details you want to include in your speech, start writing it down. Your opening line should be the first to come up, maybe you can use a thank you or a return of the toast to the speaker who spoke before you. This then should be followed with warm thanks to the guests for their participation in the ceremonies and the reception. After this, offer a toast to the parents of the couple and give them thanks on behalf of your friends – the newlyweds. Proceed to the rest of your speech. Crack a joke from time to time or say an entertaining one liner to enhance the mood of the listeners as you go along. End your speech with a final toast and your best wishes for the couple.

Once you’re done writing the best man wedding speech, ask one of your friends to review it and for some constructive criticisms. If she reacted well, you’re finished with it. If not, it is up to you to go back to the drawing board and polish your work.
