How many speeches does a best man give?
How many speeches am I required to give? I just learned that I may have to give 1 at the rehearsal dinner as well as 1 at the reception. I was also informed that I will probably make multiple toasts as well. Toast to the brides parents, bride and groom(at end of speech), bridesmaids, and 1 for the audience and toasts at the rehearsal too. Is this true?
From experience – keep speech short and sweet at rehersal dinner thank the bride & grooms parents (save the best speech for the reception)
1 Speech for the reception – Talk about the groom (1 fond memory) compliment how wonderful the bride looks and her organisation of the day has come together beautifully, compliment the bridesmaids for their hard work helping the bride, compliment the groomsmen helping organise the groom, Thank the brides parents (a few more words than thank oyu though), thank the grooms parents (more words than thanks) Then thank any interstate or overseas guests for their travels to the event – then a toast to the bride and groom may live a long and happy life together – When walking to be seated at the bridal table, seat the bridesmaids and bride before sitting down yourself – pure etiquette on such a special day – Good luck i hope this helps!!!!
