Offering to help pay for your own shower because of the economy?
My sister is my Matron of Honor. She has 3 kids, while her and my brother in law do fairly well for them self’s, my brother in law just lost his job (We live in Michigan so its happening to everyone). She called me yesterday to tell me she set a date for the shower. Her and my mom are planning it together and have decided to have it at my sisters home. My parents paid for my big wedding. I am having a destination wedding, while I did pay for my sisters airfare she still has to pay for her dress and my niece’s dress ( flower girl) I feel bad that she has to shell out for a shower too!
Is it wrong of me to offer to help out financially with the shower? I know that’s not proper but in lieu of the poor economy do you think it would be okay?
I don’t mean pay for the whole thing… just help out. Still allow them to do the planning and everything else.
I’ve actually offered to help with mine too. The people throwing my shower are all very busy and sort of financially strapped. It’s so nice that they want to do this for me, but I don’t want anyone stressing out or going broke over my shower! So far, they haven’t really let me do anything, but I’m still trying to help out if I can. I think it’s nice gesture… she may not accept your help, but I’m sure that she will appreciate the offer.
